Milinda, choices we cannot sweeten

Character design for the animated short film "Milinda", directed by Sarah Aimê (2023).

"Milinda, Sarah's great-grandmother, shares with her the poignant tale of her first love, Gabiel. In rural Brazil in the 1940s, their romance unfolded through clandestine love letters, ingeniously concealed within candies that Gabriel would toss through the window. Denied the opportunity for education, Milinda had to entrust others to decipher these romantic notes. Yet, one such reading would alter the course of her life irrevocably, leaving Gabriel etched forever in her heart."
